Legalizing cannabis for adult use will reduce costs, create jobs, and generate revenue for New Jersey.
Reduce Costs: Currently, New Jersey spends hundreds of millions of dollars per year on policing, arresting, prosecuting, and punishing people for cannabis-related offenses. By legalizing, New Jersey would significantly reduce such costs.
Create Good Jobs: The creation of a new cannabis industry would lead to thousands of jobs throughout the state. This includes jobs in cultivation facilities, distribution, and dispensaries, plus ancillary businesses such as trucking, HVAC, plumbing, legal services, financial services, and many others.
Generate Revenue: New Jersey is in a fiscal crisis. A legalized, regulated, and taxed cannabis industry could generate hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenue for our state and help to fund crucial services.
